HISTORY OF FLORENCE COURSES
Istituto Galilei’s history of Florence courses are held directly on site, walking through the streets, visiting historical Palazzi, museums, squares and churches.
One of our Italian history teachers, specialized in history of Florence, will guide you through the time, telling you about the successes, the struggles and the important historical events that gave birth to the worldwide famous city.

Our history of Florence courses give you the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful dream through myths, legends and mysteries of the city!
It is not the common guided visit or tour of Florence, you will live the history of the city, experiencing it at 360 degrees!

Our history of Florence courses can be followed by everyone. No previous historical knowledge is requested.
In the first lesson, the teacher will start to introduce you to history of Florence, giving you the basic information in class and will then continue outside the school directly downtown city.
The program of the course covers the history of different centuries, from the ancient ones to nowadays. A specific topic could be added to the program, according to your wishes (i.e. Medici family’s history, Reinassance, Guelfi and Ghibellini’s conflict, Dante’s places and characters, etc…).
Together with your teacher, you will visit the famous sites of the city, as well as the hidden and unknown places that made its history. Florentine myths, legends and anecdotes will fascinate your imagination!
Florence developement through the centuries will be analyzed, taking in consideration various aspects: culture, economy, society, politics.
The program of our history of Florence courses can be completely customizable, according to your wishes and needs.
Courses are scheduled 4 days per week, from Monday to Thursday, from 2pm to 5pm. Different schedules are possible on request.

Fees include entries to churches and museums (excluding the price of the tickets of Accademia, Uffizi and Palazzo Pitti that have to be paid separately).
* Small group courses are scheduled to start every first Monday of the month.
